Buddy Ebsen


Buddy Ebsen , was an American singer, dancer, author, film, television and character actor, whose career spanned seven decades. He had also appeared as a guest on several talk and variety shows. The SAGAFTRA records also show him as Frank Buddy Ebsen.

A middle child with four sisters, Buddy Ebsen was born as Christian Ludolf Ebsen, Jr., on April 2, 1908, in Belleville, Illinois. His father, Christian Ludolf Ebsen, Sr., was Danish, a choreographer, who once owned a dance studio, who was also a physical fitness advocate, before he operated a natatorium, for the local school district, and his mother, Frances , was Latvian, who was also a painter. Ebsen was raised in Belleville until the age of 10, when his family moved to Palm Beach County, Florida. In 1920, Ebsen and his family relocated to Orlando, Florida. Ebsen and his sisters learned to dance at a dance studio his father operated in Orlando.
